Spatial Interpolation

This course will demonstrate how to interpolate spatial data. Spatial interpolation is the process of creating a continuous surface from discrete points. Generally, environmental phenomenon such as elevation and temperature are measured at individual locations. It is nearly impossible to measure a continuous phenomenon entirely. In GIS, we often wish to analyze and study such phenomenon as a continuous raster surface. To do so, we must estimate or predict the phenomenon at non-measured locations using spatial interpolation.
